Tyre Warming option @Scawen Will this possible in multiplayer?
I was very happy to see this at last in hotlapping, takes out alot of the frustration of warming the tyres to perfection only to clip the grass wall etc .. Disapointed its not in the multiplayer side a little. But a Nice feature non the less.

But looking forward to the official updates

Quote from Scawen :

EDIT : Please hotlappers do try out the 0.6A1 hotlapping system. Victor and I worked for quite a while to try and make sure the wall hit detection was "fair". That means - invalidating hotlaps if the hit was significant, but trying not to invalidate them when there is a small scrape that wouldn't really benefit the lap time. Clearly there's a slight grey area but we had to draw the line somewhere.

OK boss

http://www.lfsforum.net/attach ... mp;stc=1&d=1307888833 This is clean lap no contact i think (unofficial PB hotlap damn it Eza ! ) 56.30

I tried to create as many close hits and hard hits pushing damn XRT pretty hard in this one

People pointing out that PC is more powerful for are coorect BUT, the problem is no matter how capable its getting to the "metal" that is the problem in a windows enviroment.
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardwa ... 3/16/farewell-to-directx/

"On consoles, you can draw maybe 10,000 or 20,000 chunks of geometry in a frame, and you can do that at 30-60fps. On a PC, you can't typically draw more than 2-3,000 without getting into trouble with performance, and that's quite surprising - the PC can actually show you only a tenth of the performance if you need a separate batch for each draw call."

"Consoles also have a major bonus over PCs here, which is their fixed architecture. If you program direct-to-metal on the PlayStation 3's GPU, then you know your code will work on every PS3. The same can't be said on the PC, where we have numerous different GPU architectures from different manufacturers that work in different ways."

Quote from MadCatX :It's about how effectively you use that performance and that's something PC's have been loosing at pretty badly...

Clue is here

Location: North West, U.K.

I bet he is from Chorley, I swear I can hear that humour in that accent.

Back to the topic though, Do anagrams count, A friend just the other day, mentioned that my name (due to my strange behaviour at times) must be "les anal stab".
Obviously after he reminded me of this particular fact, I then remembered I worked this out previously , roughly 20 or more years ago.
Strangley enough It took him that long to use it as an Insult.

Quote from Boris Lozac :You people are easily hyped All it takes is some remake to make you hyped. Yes the first Driver was awesome, especially the garage part, but it's not that easy to recreate that and that feeling... Those kind of things and games should live happily in the memory, and not butchered after 10 or more years, it will never be the same..

Indeed.
It was the game at that moment in time, cross platform also.
The gameplay was novel, the gameworld too. But how much have we seen and played since.
Lots of examples I could point out, almost too many these days to name. Lots of game studios now play safe and the bigger the software house the less of a risk they will take with the games originality and design.
Fearing that they will miss the audience (I blame the media as much as the execs)
But there is one remake that got my nostalgic juices flowing and if they dont bring this to the PC, a grown man will cry.

I get less interested in the bigger titles these days, Indie titles for me usually end up being massively more playable longterm, compared to the instant candy hits we see these days.

Interesting Idea, but open to abuse possibly. But I can see the benefits for a demo user unsure about wether to take the plunge or not.
The problem I see there is plenty of S2 Footage on the internet and on LFS Website and here on the forums.
Is it worth the work involved and then the upkeep of the system you suggest.

I hope Z33 is the last compatible one. We then need to be in the incompatible stage for the shortest time possible so we can get the official patch out and I can get back to the tyre physics.

Quote from Scawen : here it's not good, because each person who asks a question takes yet another 5 to 10 minutes of my time, so reducing the updates I can put in today's patch.
....
So, please, try to understand, I'm working very hard to try and get a patch out today and I don't want to explain every single decision on every step of the way.

Quote from NeOn_sp :That´s easy.. Just don´t answer questions, as you did with mine.. ( wind direction and no repair )

I think this was answered in the quote above from Scawen.
Trust me, (i hope) There are a hundred or more questions I would love to ask.
But I know what its like to be working on something close to a deadline, only to be stopped and asked things that back-tracks my current state of mind/method.
Maybe when the push to what the dev's targets are in this period of development are complete, we might see an opportunity where there is time for questions and such like to be responded too more attentively.
But I can see both sides of the coin and just like most people wish there were more hours in the day (so i could get more sleep damn it)

Quote from kimd41 :Okay okay, no more questions. I promise.

aha So you have all the answers

For most people this isnt a problem, they think its not a problem you see.
Its only when your/they/them/us/we are affected by it, that they/them/us/we will have your arms in the air, and perhaps a different attitude. Then maybe, people will listen to those watching the watchers.
